Railway Recruitment Board Released RRB NTPC 2019 notification under Centralized Employment Information CEN 01/2019 for 35208 vacancy.The exam is conducted for selected NTPC post.
 RRB NTPC recruitment include various types of post like Junior Clerk cum Typist,Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant Comm, Includes Typist, Senior Time Guard,Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Train Clerk, Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice and various regional railways and products of Indian Railways. 

RRB had announced NTPC recruitment in February 2019 through official notification. While applications for RRB NTPC 2019 were over March 2019, the exam was originally scheduled to be conducted between the months of June to September.

Exam dates were not announced by RRB. In fact, a notification was issued on 14 October 2019, stating that the examination would be postponed until further notice. Thus, candidates are waiting for the exam dates and issue of admit card for RRB NTPC exam. There is a lot of confusion among the candidates due to this long delay.

RRB NTPC 2019 CBT (Stage I) Exam Pattern

The questions will be objective type in which there will be multiple choice options.

A total of 100 questions will be asked.
The duration will be 90 minutes.
For PWD Exam Duration is 2 Hrs (120 minutes)

The shortlisted candidates for the second stage CBT will be based on the normalization of scores.

One mark will be given for each correct answer and 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong option.

Railway Recruitment 2018-19 Examination For ALP TECHNICIAN,GROUP D AND JE COMPLETED

Indian Railways successfully conducts a phase of recruitment, one of the largest practices in the world.

47.45 lakh candidates appeared for more than 64,000 posts of Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians

About 1.17 crore candidates appeared for more than 63,000 posts in Level I (erstwhile Group D) posts.

24.75 lakh candidates appeared for more than 13,500 posts for Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical Metal Assistant (CMA).

During the recruitment process, maximum possible levels of security and scrutiny were ensured

IT enabled facilities were included in the examination process; No two question papers were the same

As per Official notifications - one for Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician (CEN 01/2018) and the other for Level-I posts (CEN 02/2018), were issued for filling in the year 2018. was 1.27 lakh vacancies.

The total posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technicians were 64,371. About 47.45 lakh candidates applied for these posts. The vacancies for Level-I posts (erstwhile Group D) were 63,202 and around 1.9 crore candidates applied for these posts. Around 26.7 million applicants applied, making it the largest recruitment exercise.

The Computer Based Test (CBT) for the posts of ALP & Technician was conducted in 33 shifts in 11 days from 9 August to 4 September 2018, with 440 test centers in 166 cities across India and the highest attendance. 36.42 lakh candidates (about 7%).

For this recruitment, the second phase of CBT was conducted in 6 shifts from 21 January 2019 to 23 January 2019. Attendance was 88%.

A Computer Based Aptitude Test for ALP was conducted only on 10.05.2019. Attendance was around 84%.This was followed by document verification process and medical examination.

The panels have been equipped for the posts of ALP and Technician (CEN 01/2018) of about 17,500 posts of Railways.The rest of panels are under process due to medical appeal cases.The remaining panels will soon be advised to the zonal ministry of railways.

Mega CBT (erstwhile Group D) for Level-1 posts started on 17 September 2018 and successfully completed on 17th 2018. 152 examinations were conducted in 51 days in 16 cities in 40 city examination centers. The total number of eligible candidates was 1,89,82,719 (about 1.90 crore), of which 1,17,14,754 appeared for the computer based test, which is about 61.71%. This was followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Examination Process.

For the posts of Level-1 (CEN 02/2018), panels of about 53,000 posts have been equipped in the Railways. The rest of the panels are under process due to medical appeal cases. The remaining panels will soon be advised to the zonal ministry of railways.

For the post of JE / DMS / CMA, Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has selected the first phase of computer based on 22.05.19 to 02.06.19 and 26.06.2019 for 24.75 lakh candidates for the post of JE / DMS. . Tested. / CMA. It was conducted in 35 innings in 12 days at 356 examination centers in 109 cities in India. Attendance was around 62.5%.

The second stage CBT for this recruitment was conducted in 10 shifts from 28 August 2019 to 1 September 2019. Attendance was 88%. Candidates for document verification and medical examination will be informed soon.

CEN 03/2018: Recruitment of Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (Information Technology) 
Depot Material Superintendant (DMS) and Chemical &Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)) 


1. Based on the performance of candidates in the 2nd stage Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted from 28-
08-2019 to 01-09-2019 & on 19.09.2019 for the Junior Engineer(JE), Junior Engineer (Information and
Technology), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) notified
against Centralized Employment Notification (CEN 03/2018), candidates bearing the Roll Numbers listed
(in ascending order and not in merit) herein under have been provisionally shortlisted for the Document
Verification (DV)& Medical Examination.

2. Short listing for Document verification has been done as per CEN duly considering community wise cutoff
marks for various categories of posts while screening the candidates for 2nd stage CBT, their post
preferences and Merit Index in 2nd stage CBT.

3. Merit Index has been generated for all the candidates, whose normalized score in multi-session exam group
and raw score for single session exam group of 2nd Stage CBT more than or equal to their community
qualifying marks, as per the formula given in CEN vide Paras 14.1, 2 & 3 of CEN 03/2018.

4. Candidates are advised to refer to the community-wise cut off for each post declared while publishing the
list of the candidates shortlisted for 2nd stage CBT to know their eligibility for allocation of their preferred
post on the basis of Merit Index. The candidates would be eligible for the posts for which his/her community-
wise cut off in 1st Stage CBT is less than or equal to his/her 1st Stage CBT Score subject to opting the same
while submitting their applications.

5. This list of shortlisted candidates for DV also includes 50% additional candidates (subject to availability of
eligible candidates) for the posts over and above the notified/revised vacancies published on the websites
of RRBs.

6. The cut off Merit Index for candidates shortlisted for DV is also notified here with.

7. Document Verification (DV) will be held at the premises indicated in the e-call letter for DV. After scheduling
the candidates for DV, they will be sent an email and SMS to download their e call letter over and above
publishing the DV Schedule on RRB websites. E-Call letter with details of date, time and session (FN/AN)
along with the instructions for Document verification and Medical Examination can be downloaded from the
websites of RRBs.

8. Candidates may note that after completion of DV, they will be sent for Medical Examination at the nominated
Railway hospitals located in the jurisdiction of RRBs on the next day of DV. Accordingly, Candidates have
to come prepared for DV and Medical examination for more than two to four days.

9. The shortlisted candidates for DV should produce all the original documents along with two sets of Xerox
copies in A4 size as detailed in the CEN and e-call letter.

10. Candidature of all the shortlisted candidates for Document verification is purely provisional and is liable to
be cancelled, at any stage of recruitment or thereafter, in case of any inconsistency/deficiency in the data
furnished by them in their online application or any malpractice on the part of candidates coming to the
notice of RRB at any stage of the recruitment process. It may be noted that merely calling a candidate for
Document Verification does not entitle him/her in any way to an appointment in the Railways.

11. While every care has been taken in preparing the list of candidates shortlisted for Document Verification,
RRB reserves the right to rectify any inadvertent error or typographical/printing mistakes. RRB regrets
inability to entertain any correspondence from unsuccessful candidates.

13. Regarding Medical Examination, candidates are advised that after completion of DV, medical examination
will be carried out by Railway Hospital/Health Unit. Candidates have to pay the prescribed medical fee of
Rs 24/- only. There are no other charges to be paid to the Hospitals/Health Unit for the medical examination.
In rare cases, where the investigation like CT Scan, Ultra Sound, tests to rule out refractive eye surgery
etc., have to be carried out for which necessary facility is not available in the Railway Hospital/Health Unit,
then for such investigation, candidates may have to make the requisite payment to the concerned

14. Candidates may note that all the recruitment related activities by Railways is purely on merit basis only and
candidates are not required to make any payment to any authorities other than the prescribed Medical
Examination fee of Rs.24/-

15. Important: Beware of the touts who may misguide the candidates with false promises of getting them
selected for the job on illegal consideration. The recruitment process in the RRB exams is fully computerized
and the selection is based purely on the merit of candidates.
